TRAVELLING TOGETHER

Planning a wellness retreat as a couple

A shared stay can leave room for two individual programmes, private appointments and time together.

Agree on the purpose

Talk about what each person wants before discussing destinations. One partner may want assessment and structure while the other wants rest. A shared booking does not require identical goals, but it does require a provider able to support the arrangement.

Participant or companion?

Some stays allow one person to follow a programme while the other accompanies them. Others price and plan both people as participants. At SENSES, each participating guest has an individual suitability review and plan; companion and accommodation arrangements are confirmed separately.

Keep private space

Ask about separate appointments, confidentiality and room choices. You should be able to spend time together without feeling obliged to share health information or attend the same sessions. Discuss these boundaries before the schedule is finalised.

Compare the full price

Check whether quotes are per person, per room or per programme. Add meals, companion activities, treatments and any additional accommodation to the comparison. The same room does not automatically mean one programme fee.

Do not assume couples therapy

The ability to travel as a couple does not establish that a retreat provides relationship therapy. If therapeutic work is the purpose, ask about the actual service and the qualifications of the practitioner rather than choosing by setting alone.
